Ponies often use the term “buggo” as a derogatory phrase for Changelings. There are many slurs used to and from this group. This is what inspired their corporate and/or business-themed hives and attire. They address situations by their benefits and costs. Hive Mind Changelings have no emotions.(For example, most pre-reform hives use around 3 queens acting as matriarchies with drones, whereas counterculture or hive mind hives are traditionally a dictatorship, usually patriarchy as a foil to the majority of hives.) These social orders change depending on the type of Changeling. Changelings have a complicated social order inspired by bees.A group of Changelings is called a brood.*.The War Economy does them no favor either, as most of them fittingly use drones in endless proxy wars. This is perhaps due to a loss in Changeling popularity in the My Little Pony fandom. About 85 percent of the race remain independent or form small broods, barely reaching past 5 members. Slowly, Hives started to allow Reformed Changelings to join them.Ĭhangelings still one of the largest populations in Pony town to-date. They started to form small broods just for Reforms so they could have their own place to call home. Reforms were forced out of Hives and rejected by kings and queens. When Reformed Changelings first joined the scene (in Hives) circa 2017, older Changelings were not pleased. Most "reforms" were looked down upon by normal Changelings. In normal Hives, Reform Racism was very prevalent. These ponies can be identified by their sharp or slicked back fins/hair, dark grey skin, and business-themed attire. There have been efforts to destroy this counterculture, all have failed. They are commonly known to make up new derogatory phrases to use as insults to anyone does not like them. They place Changeling lives and opinions above those of other races. Started by Crafty in early 2018, Hive Mind Changelings and Changeling Rebels follow an anti-pony philosophy. Many changelings decided to start a counter-culture movement against reformation. A piece of art relating to the Vanhoover event showed an Arctic Changeling here. Any fellow changelings that meet this lone arctic changeling may take caution and talk to them. This player is known to be here on the PG english server, rarely on the 18+ and is presumably from Volucris Hive, as this is on their name. Since the 2023 Vanhoover event following the introduction of Queen Volucris, a lone Arctic Changeling began to roam around in the bottom left stone ruins or the dock, most likely looking for allies. The Arctic Changeling sitting in the stone ruins Changelings from other Hives have different coloration, behavior and appearances. They often wear lighter colors and white accessories.Īlthough only one Changeling hive has been shown in the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic series, there are many other fanon hives too. They do not have the same disdain against ponies many other Changelings have. They are traditionally much nicer and more accepting of new ideas and other races. In Pony Town, they are portrayed as lighter, more colorful variants of changelings. Reformed Changelings were introduced in the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic series. Their clothes and accessories usually follow a darker, jewel-toned color scheme. Although not canonically possible, some player-created changelings have alternate eye or mane colors, magic abilities, translucent fin or wing-esque manes, clothing, and/or accessories. Changeling hives work similarly to that of beehives, having one ruler, and many drones.Ĭhangelings begin as larvae like creatures, then grow shells, wings, a horn, and a tail. They are mainly a matriarchal society, ignoring the counter movement started by Crafty in early 2018 (See info at bottom of page). They commonly live in hives and are lead by their queens. The Changelings in Pony Town are based on their appearance in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
